The Correct Answer is

1) 100m

Explanation

A is the East Direction and is at a distance of 60m from B

∴ AB=60m

C is in the North Direction from the point A at a distance of 80m

∴ AC=80m

We know that North is perpendicular to East direction; This makes our △ABC a Right Angled Triangle, Right Angled at ∠A=90°

So, by Pythagorus Theorem, (Hypotenuse)² = (Side)² + (Side)²

(BC)² = (AC)² + (AB)²

(BC)² = (80)² + (60) ²

(BC)² = 6400+3600

(BC)² = 10000

BC = √10000

BC= ±100

Distance is always positive

∴BC=100m

Ans- The distance is 100m
