r = 25 cm

Length of cord = 40 cm

Perpendicular from center to cord bisect the cord.

Let it bisect it at point C .

In triangle AOC ,

Where C = 90° .

By Pythagoras theorem ,

AO² = AC² + OC²

 \boxed{AO \:is \:radius}

25² = 20² + OC²

√625 - 400 = OC

OC = √225

OC = 15 cm

Hence distance from its cord is 15 cm .
