Arteries carry blood from the heart to different parts of the body while Veins collect blood from body and carry it back to the heart.

Arteries have thick, elastic and muscular walls while veins have thin , less muscular walls.

Generally an artery carries oxygeneted blood while a vein carries deoxygeneted blood.
