Answer:

AP/AB=1/3. (Given)

  =AP/AP+PB=1/3. ( AB=AP+AB )

       By solving this we get :-

       3AP=AP+AB

       so, 2AP=PB

       

       =AP/PB=1/2

    so, m=1.     ,n=2.           section  formula:-

x=mx1 +nx2/m1+m2

y=my1 +ny2/m1+m2

=-:By putting values :-

   we get :-

1. * 5+2 * 2/1+2.   ====  x

1 * -8+  2 * 1/1 +2 ====  y

x=5+4/3.          =9/3.      ==3

y= --8+2/3.       =--6/3.     == -2

By putting these values we get,

    2x-y= -k

    2(3) - (-2)= -k

6+2 = -k

so, k= -8
