Point P is 5 m south of point A. Point T is 8 m east of point Q. Point Z is 4 m west of point V. Point P is 6 m

west of point B. Point V is 6 m south of point T. Point Q is 4 m south of point B.

A person starts from point B in north direction. Walks for 6 m and reaches point C, takes a right turn walks for

5 m reaches point F. Again he takes a right turn, walks for 3 m, reaches point H, now takes a left turn, reaches

point K, now takes a final right turn to reach point T. Find the area enclosed by points B, Q, T, K, H, F and C.

(a) 58 m2

(b) 65m2

(c) 71 m2

Answer:

The area enclosed by points B, Q, T, K, H, F and C is 71m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the attached diagram for illustration.

As the distance between Q and T is 8m.

The distance between C and F and H and K is parallel to Q and T,

=> CF + HK = QT

=> 3m + HK = 8m

=> HK = 8m - 3m = 5m

As the distance between Q and C is 10m.

The distance between k and F and T and K is parallel to Q and C,

=> FH + KT = CQ

=> 3m + KT = 10m

=> HK = 10m - 3m =7m

Therefore, the area enclosed by points B, Q, T, K, H, F and C.

= The area of 1 and 2

=> 5m*10m + 3m*7m

=> 50m² + 21m²

=> 71m²
