Point P is on line segment \overline{OQ}
OQ

. Given OP=6,OP=6, OQ=4x-3,OQ=4x−3, and PQ=3x,PQ=3x, determine the numerical length of OQ. how do I solve this? Do I add/ Or subtract? Since I know I have to put it in an equation of some sort.

Answer:

x = 9

OQ = 33

PQ = 27

Step-by-step explanation:

Given point P is on line segment  OQ

=>  P lies between O & Q

<---------4x - 3 --------->

O            P               Q

<---- 6 ----><---- 3x --->

OP = 6

OQ = 4x - 3

PQ = 3x

OQ = OP + PQ

=> 4x -3 = 6 + 3x

=> x = 9

OQ = 4 * 9 - 3 = 33

PQ = 3*9 = 27
