Length of PQ = √119  =  10.91 cm

point P lies on a circle with Centre O and radius 5cm

=> OP = 5 cm

   OQ = 12 cm

   PQ  = ?

PQ is tangent   => PQ ⊥ OP

Applying pythagorus theorm

OQ² = OP² + PQ²

=>  12² = 5²  + PQ²

=> 144 = 25 + PQ²

=> PQ² = 119

=> PQ = √119  =  10.91 cm
