Given :  P'  is the image of of P (-5 , 5)  under a translation by 2 units to the left  and 5 unit up

To Find :   coordinates of P'

Solution:

a translation by 2 units to the left

=> x'  = x - 2

5 unit up

=> y'  = y + 5

a translation by 2 units to the left  and 5 unit up

=> (x' , y' )  = (x - 2  , y + 5)

P (-5 , 5)

=> P'  = ( - 5 - 2 , 5 + 5)

=>  P'  = ( -7 , 10)

 coordinates of P' = ( -7 , 10)
