1. The steps are as following,   1. Air is taken into the body through nostrils.   2. Air is filtered by the hair and mucus present in the nostrils.   3. Air passes through rings of cartilage into the alveoli  4. The alveoli provide surface area where exchange of gases can take place.   5. It is supplied with extensive network of blood vessels.  6. The blood brings carbon dioxide from the rest of the body for release into alveoli air and the oxygen in the alveolar air is transported to all pa4ts of the body
