• Ratio of the first number to the

second number .

Solution ,

Let

• A and B be the two number

such that.

According to the question

• 40% of A = 2/3 B

Now ,

• 40 A/100 = 2B/3

• A/B = (2/3 × 5/2)

• A/B = 5/3

• A:B = 5:3

Hence,

• the ratio of the first number to

the second number is 5:3

Three points A( 3,3) ,B( 6,1) and C ( x,5)

To Find

Value of x

If two points are collinear then the slope of the two points must be equal.

Slope = y₂ -y₁÷ x₂ -x₁

Slope of AB= 1-3/6-3

=>Slope of AB=-2/3

Now, finding slope of BC

Slope of BC= 5-1/x-6

=>Slope of BC=4/x-6

Now, slope of AB= Slope of BC

=>-2/3=4/x-6

=> -2(x-6)=4×3

=>-2x+12=12

=>-2x=12-12

=>-2x=0

=>x=0

Extra information=>

To prove two points are collinear then Equate the slope of two given points.If the slope of both Points are same then it's a collinear.

Slope of AB= -2/3

Slope of BC= 5-1/x-6

Slope of BC=4/0-6= 4/-6= -2/3

=>We see that slope of AB and BC are equal hence they form collinear.
