Points A and B are 70km apart on ghway, a car starts from A and another from B at the same time andin the same direction they meet in 7 hours but if they travel towards the eachother they meet in 1 hour. find the speed of both cars solution

Point A car speed be = a km/hr
Point B car speed be = b km/hr

If they travel in the same direction, they meet in 7 hours. Point A and B are 70 km apart.
7a = 7b + 70
a = b + 10

if they travel towards each other they meet in one hour. Point A and B are 70 km apart.
a + b = 70

putting value for a,
b + b + 10 = 70

b = 30 km/hr
a = 40 km/hr

hello dear !!!!


let the speed of car A and car B be x km/hr & y km /hr.


then , the distance covered by car A in 7 hrs = 7x

and the distance covered by car B in 7 hrs = 7y.


now , 7x - 7y = 70
===》x - y = 10.................. (i)


case II :--

when both the cars travels towards each other ...then ,


distance my car in 1 hour is = X

&

distance covered by car B in 1 hour is = y

then , X + Y = 70 .................. (ii).

now ,on adding both the above equations ...we get :--

x = 40 km/hr & y = 30 km/hr.
