Polio drops are not given to children suffering from diarrhea because it will take time to get into work and the vaccine given will be of no use because the virus of diarrhea will block the working of polio drops as it causes vomitting.

during diarrhea gut motility is increased. whatever ingested comes out quicker. Polio drops contain attenuated polio virus. once given in a large proportion of this viral dose stays in intestine and proliferates to show its effect.

If given during diarrhea , with increased motility of gut, most of it will be thrown out fast resulting lesser efficiency. for this reason wait till diarrhea is over.
