The polio drop which is an oral vaccine may excrete out due to frequent loose motions. Diarrhoea is a disease which causes frequent loose motions in human body. The polio drop won't be effective on the child due to Diarrhoea as it may not be absorbed.

Diarrhea at OPV receipt was associated with vaccine failure to poliovirus types 1 and 3 only after OPV2. These data support the current recommendation that children with diarrhea receive OPV and be reimmunized once their illness resolves.
