Political institutions are recognized political parties (Dem-GOP) and organizations (NATO, OAS, UN etc) that create laws, halt or mediate conflicts, and supply basic services (health-food-education-medicine-security) to their specific countries. A political institution can be any size, ranging from a village up to a central government.
