transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma is defined as pollination.
it is of two types
1= self pollination = when pollination occurs within one flower or flowers of same plant
2= cross pollination= when pollination occurs within different flowers.

  • Pollination : The transfer of Pollen grains from Anther to Stigma this process is know as Pollination. The insects, water, and wind are required for the process of Pollination.

There are 2 types of Pollination :

  • Self Pollination
  • Cross pollination

> Self pollination : The self pollination process occurs with in a flower or between the two flowers of the same plant. And in this process the flowers do not depend on the other agencies for the pollination.

> Cross Pollination : This occurs between the two flowers from different plants of the same species.And in this process the Agents such as insects, water , and wind... are required for the pollination.
