Polyester is also a thermoplastic polymer. When the molten polyester is forced through holes of a spinneret,then thin polyester fibres are formed. the polyester yarn can ne woven to make fabrics. Thermoplastic polyester, like PET, is made from polymerization (polycondensation) of diacids (HOOC—R—COOH) and dialcoholes (HO—R’—OH),producing linear chain macromoleclues of polyesters and water. This kind of polyesters are used as synthetic fibres as well as plastic parts.

The backbones are formed by the “esterification condensation of polyfunctional alcohols and acids1.”
