polygamy is a practice done in olden days like sati to discriminate women . A man can marry many women but women cannot. This is declining these days because women are also treated equally with men.

Because,it violates the human rights of the women who are involved in the polygamy marriages.

These women often face social violence and ignorance due to the multiple spouses of their husband and this can also cause mental health breakdown.
