Polygon

Definition :

A polygon is any (2-D) 2-dimensional shape formed with straight lines.

Examples :Triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, and hexagons.


Types :

Polygons which can be classified as the simplex or complex polygon, concave or convex polygon and regular or irregular polygon. There are many types in the regular polygons such as quadrilateral, pentagon, Hexagon, Heptagon, Octagon, Nonagon, Decagon etc.


Properties :

The number of sides of the shape.  The angles between the sides of the shape.  The length of the sides of the shape.


Method of Construction :

Angle Construction by the Square Method. As the centre of any regular polygon can be easily located by the square method, and half the isosceles triangle of the regular polygon drawn, the base angle of any regular polygon can be constructed.
