(1) The government has started to fine those who use polythene, because of this people are highly neglecting the usage of plastic

(2) As we know jute policy was once introduced due to which people were using jute rather than polythene

(3) As on global level the need of protecting the environment is increasing day by day due to which the usage of plastic bags are prohibited recently.

Polythene bags are commonly used as carry bags but their use is being discouraged these days. It is because, they are non-biodegradable in nature.

Explanation:

Substances which are biodegradable in nature gets decomposed and degraded into simpler substance in less span of time. On the other hand substances such as polythene bags are non-biodegradable and thus they remain in the environment for long span of time.

Partial degradation of polythene bags may take million years.  It also causes serious environmental pollution and is highly fatal to animals if they swallow accidently the polythene bags.
