Let father's age be y

According to the question,  

      y = 4x             -------- (1)       { Current }

      (y-5) = 9 (x-5) -------- (2)      { 5 years ago }

      y - 5 = 9x - 45

      9x - y = 40     -------- (3)

Substituting equation (1) : y = 4x,

      9x - 4x  = 40

      5x = 40

      x = 40/5

∴ x = 8

From equation, y = 4x

                          ∴ y = 32

Thus Pooja's age is 8 years and her father's age is 32 years.
