Pooja's mother goes to the temple everyday, and she also performs religious rituals at home; sometimes she even invites Brahman priests to perform elaborate rituals. Many major changes happened in the years between 1700 and 1750, such as the worship of new deities, the construction of big temples by royalty, and a growth in the importance of Brahmanas as the 'upper' social class. What were the common people's beliefs in a supernatural power and religion often closely connected with?

Religion in India is as old as the Human civilization. Division of Society on the basis of Varna system is present all across the Indian Subcontinent. It is the spirit and sense of collectivism which connect supernatural power  and common people's beliefs.

Therefore, it is evident that the changes happened naturally as the Religion grasp its control over decades.

Some of the major changes happened between 1700 and 1750 was the Sufism spread agilely and the Brahmins influence were taking new shapes.

  • The common people's beliefs in supernatural power and religion often closely connected with a spirit of Sacred things.
  • People acquire these beliefs from their ancestors and continue to follow generation after generation.
  • It is not only the belief but the religion which work as a binding force to connect each other in this world.
  • People feel a sense of connectivity with the Almighty when it comes to rituals while performing it.

Thus, the sense of collective effervescence is there which also act as connecting link between Humans and God.
