No, the statement is not correct. Population in Brazil is not evenly distributed.
Out of the 157,872,000 inhabitants, only 10% live inland, while others live on the 500 kms long eastern coast which is only 25% of the total area of the country.
The population density is very low in north-west part of the country, and there are some remote areas that absolutely have no inhabitance.
