Population in a city was 860000 in the next year if it is increased by 14000 more than one tenth of the previous population the present population in the City

Let the present population in the city = x.

Given that population of a city was 860000.

Given that in next year it is increased by 14000 more than 1/10th of the previous population.

x - 860000/10 = 14000

x - 86000 = 14000

x = 14000 + 86000

x = 100000.

Therefore the present population in the city = 100000.
