More population might give more human resource, but excess of it might lead to overpopulation which is not an asset. Therefore, the population of a country should be balanced (neither too much nor too less) to be an asset.

Of course more population means more human resource but excessive population may lead to overpopulation, and that means the country which is overpopulated is not an asset.
So for becoming an asset country the country should have a balanced population i.e neither overpopulated nor less populated.
