Population of a town three years ago was 60,000. If the annual increase during three successive years be at the rate of 4%, 5% and 6%, respectively, find its
present population.

 = 60000 \times 1.04 = 62400

population after second year

 = 62400 \times 1.05 = 65520

population after third year

 = 65520 \times 1.06 = 69451

Note:- 69451.2 has been appproximated to 69451
