The population of both places will be equal in 14 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the years will the population of both places be equal

Initial Population of Patna city = 96000

The decreasing rate of population is 800 per year.

So, Decrease in population in x years = 800x

So, Population after x years in Patna = 96000-800x

Initial Population of Patliputra city = 68000

The  increasing rate of population is 1200 per year.

So, Increase in population in x years = 1200x

So, Population after x years in Patna =68000+1200x

ATQ

96000-800x=68000+1200x

96000-68000=1200x+800x

28000=2000x

14=x

Hence  the population of both places will be equal in 14 years
