Given Information:-

  • Mr Saxena lent a sum of money at 2½% per annum simple interest and received an interest of Rs 2, 400 in 3 years.

Need to find out:-

  • Find the sum = ?

Here,

Rate of Interest = 2½% p.a. = 5/2% p.a.

Simple Interest = Rs 2,400

Time = 3 years

Principal = 100 × S.I/ 5 × 3

=> 100 × 2400 × 2/ 5 × 3

=> Rs 32,000

Hence:-

  • Mr Saxena lent Rs 32,000.
