Correct Question

PQR is a triangle right angled at P. If PQ = 10 cm

PR = 24 cm

Find QR.

Given

  • PQR is a right angled triangle
  • PQ = 10 cm
  • PR = 24 cm

To find

  • Length of QR

Solution

By pythagoras theorem

  • H² = P² + B²

where,

  • H = Hypotenuse (Longest side)
  • P = Perpendicular
  • B = Base

Substituting the given values,

⇒ QR² = PQ² + PR²

⇒ QR² = 10² + 24²

⇒ QR² = 100 + 576

⇒ QR² = 676

⇒ QR = ± √676 Reject - ve

⇒ QR = 26 cm

  • QR = 26 cm
