because he defeated Alexander the great 7 times and don't let him cross the Jhelum river.

I would like to tell you an interesting fact about porus that, the king of Magadh of that time who was Dhananand was a napit nand hence he had strong hate for all the kshtriya.

and for your information at that time Magadh was the most powerful state of the India.
