Hope it helps!!!!

Periodic table is based on atomic number. Since, all isotopes of an element have same atomic number, they have not given any specific position.

Isotopes are atoms of the same element having different atomic mass but same atomic number. For e.g., there are three isotopes of hydrogen with atomic mass 1, 2, and 3. According to Mendeleev's periodic table these should be placed at three separate places. However isotopes have not been given separate places in the periodic table.

isotopes have differnt atomic masses...but same at.no....since modern periodic table is in increasing order of atomic no...so the isotopes of an element is placed in 1 block..

AS ISOTOPES HAVE SAME ATOMIC NUMBER EVEN THOUGH DIFFERENT ATOMIC MASSES AND IN PERIODIC TABLE WE HAVE ARRANGED ELEMENTS ACCORDING TO INCREASING ATOMIC NUMBERS AND NOT ATOMIC MASSES SO ALL ISOTOPES ARE LOCATED IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE ELEMENTS.THERE IS NO SPECIAL PLACE IN THE PERIODIC TABLE FOR THE ISOTOPES.

HOPE IT HELPS!!!1  : ) : ) : )
