Positive Charges are CANCELLED out by Negative Charges in an Atom. Therefore if I had an Atom with 10 PROTONS and 9 Electrons, what would the charge of the Atom be?

Answer:

Protons are positively charged whereas electrons are negatively charged. If an atom carries one electron and one proton, it will not carry any charge. Hence it will have a neutral charge.
