The ion that is found in any atom or group of atoms has either positive charge or negative charge. This depends upon the gain and loss of electrons. Examples of positive radicals are Hydrogen, Sodium, Potassium, Ammonium, and Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc and Aluminium.

Some common examples of basic radicals are Na+, Ba2+, Fe3+.
