This research is about reconciliation process in post-war Sri Lanka. Reconciliation is a complex process which can rebuild the relationship between conflict parties. According to Bloomfield & Barnes (2003) “effective reconciliation is the best guarantee that the violence of the past will not return”. End of the war makes many expectations on peace and reconciliation among Sri Lankan people as well as international community. Mahinda Rajapaksha who got the war victory tried to make the reconciliation through developmental approach. In his ruling period, there were many efforts such as rehabilitation of ex-combatants, off the direct violence, infrastructural development, resettlement and etc. carried, but, they did not ensure the reconciliation due to his authoritarian style of regime. After the regime change in 2015, President Mithripala Srisena and coalition government contribute to make the reconciliation, although there are some shortages in their process and it is not easy. This study tries to know the reconciliation level in post-war Sri Lanka and find out the barriers in this process.
