Steps to prepare potash alum:

1. Take the require amount of potassium sulphate in a beaker containing a little amount of distilled water.

2. Stir the mixture with glass rod.

3. Some amount of aluminium sulphate was taken in a beaker. Warm water and sulphuric acid was added. Add sulphuric acid till solution becomes clear.

4. Mix the two solutions in a china dish.

5. The china dish was placed on a wire gauze over a burner.  The solution was heated till the solution becomes concentrated.

6. The china dish contents were cooled.  

7. Crystals of potash alum will be formed. Filter them using filter paper.
