Potassium chlorate is decomposed into potassium chloride and oxygen. The mass of oxygen can be calculated by the help of law of conservation of mass that states" Total mass of reactants must be equal to amount of products". As amount of potassium chlorate is given i.e. 24.5 g and amount of potassium chloride is also given. We can calculate the amount of oxygen by subtracting both masses. The mass of oxygen is 9.6 g. The solution is in given image.

Mass of oxygen(x) = Mass of potassium chlorate- mass of potassium chloride
