Potassium chlorate decomposes, on heating , to form potassium chloride and oxygen. When 24.5g of potassium chlorate is decomposes completely then 14.9g of potassium chloride is formed . Calculate the mass of oxygen formed . State the law of chemical combination which you have used in solving this problem?

24.5g = 14.9 + mass of O
24.5-14.9= mass of O
9.6g of oxygen

law used in this question is law of conservation of mass which is stated as
"In a chemical reaction mass is neither created nor destroyed it remains constant"
