Chemistry, asked by luciferxixo, 1 year ago

potassium metal reacts with water to give potassium hydroxide and hydrogen gas
=> 2K + 2H2O --> 2KOH + H2 is the correct answer as I searched.
Doesn't it should be K + 2H2O --> K(OH)2 + H2?

Please clarify my doubt, I will mark brainliest to who help me.

yes u r right
k+2H2O --> k(oH)2+H2 is not possible
because k(0H)2 is not any compound

heya...

THE BALANCED CHEMICAL EQUATION FOR THIS REACTION WOULD BE-

2K + 2H2O --------------->2K[OH] + H2
