Yes, potatoes don't make any types of starch but still they are full of it.
It is because they get these starch by the process of photosynthesis. Starch
is a polymer formed by the monomer glucose. Potatoes serves as the storage organ of starch.
In the plant of potato, sugars gets turned into starch and then is transported to stem. The stem of the potato which is a modification growns inside the soil, i.e, underground.
