Pottery is one of the oldest crafts in the country. This is one major reason why ancient sites had more of pottery as archaeological objects compared to other craft forms. Moreover, pots of different styles and forms were widely used for cooking and storing food.

Also, tools are equally common in archaeological objects because they were needed for a number of purposes such as cutting and digging. The tools were primarily made of stone.

Pottery and tools are the most archaeological object found in the archaeological site as the fossil, because they are less subjected to degrade.

Explanation:

The pottery are made up of fired clay which has no or reduced oxidative properties and thus withstand the natural decay over time. Tools were made up in the same way and were composed of pure metals rather than the alloy metals used today, therefore they too resist natural decay. Other materials used by them undergo natural decay and thus these two are frequent at sites.
