pour some water in a beaker . heat it gently. a thermometer inserted in beaker , raised temperature up to 100 degrees ,no further rise in temperature is seen through supply of heat continue s . explain the reason . in place of water if we put ice cubes and heat them when will the reading of the thermometer changes ? why ?

100 degree celcius is the boiling temperature of water.Any increase in beyond this temperature will cause water to evaporate and so the temperature will continue to remain the same
