- it can transfer any civil or criminal case from one state High Court to another state High Court or from a subordinate Court to another state High Court.
Powers of supreme court :-
♥ The Supreme Court is the Apex court of India , it is the last resort in case of appeals .
♥ The judges of Supreme court are appointed by the President in consultation with such other judges .
♥ The Supreme Court is primarily a court of appeal though it hears cases in the original jurisdiction .
♥ It is the guarantor and guardian of Fundamental Rights .
♥ It has the power of giving an advisory opinion to the President in certain matters .
Functions of supreme court :-
♥ It takes up appeals against the verdicts of the High Courts , other courts and tribunals .
♥ It settles disputes between various government authorities , governments and between the centre and any state government .
♥ The law that SC declares is binding on all the courts in India and on the Union as well as the state governments .
♥ It also hears matters which the President refers to it in its advisory role .
