The President of India plays a very important role in our Constitution.
President is also known as the first citizens of our Country
1) Executive Power = Article 53 all executive power of the Union are vested in him. These power are excerice by him either directly or by any subordinate.
2)The Supreme command of the Defence force is vested on the President and excerice it accordance with law.
3) Excerice of Executive Power of President
According to article 14 ( equally before law) President appoints the Prime minister and other minister and they hold office during his pleasure.
4) Power of Appointment = He appoint the attorney General of India, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Chief election commissioner , the chairman and member of the condition of SCs, STs and OBCs.
5) The President also receive the credentials of Ambassador and high Commissioner from other countries.
6) Power to appoint Judicial Officer= The President appoints the chief Justice of the Union Judiciary and other Judge on the advice of the chief justice.
