after the calculation of equivalent resistance.

In the fig 1. the 6 ohm resistors in parallel are combined following the formula R1×R2/R1+R2

Similarily, the 8 ohm resistors.

In fig. 2 the 3ohm resistor, 4ohm resistor and 1 ohm resistor are in series combination so the equivalent resistance is 8 ohm following the formula R1+R2+R3+.........Rn

Now V=16 V

R= 8 ohms

According to ohm's law, V=IR

I= V/R

=>16/8

=>2 A

Hence I = 2A

We know that

p =  {i}^{2} r

so \: p =  {2}^{2}  \times 8 \\  = 4  \times 8 \\  = 32 \: w

Hence the power dissipated in the circuit is 32 W.
