What is the normal design of a Power factor correction in an Industrial load?

Capacitor banks with (large ratings in KVAR) are kept with the Industry. These reactive loads are added at the input to the industrial load.  Then the power factor improves.   The KVA consumed by the industry from the distribution lines, reduces and the additional current is supplied by the capacitor bank.
