The Ability of an eye to adjust the focal length of the eye-lens with the help of Ciliary Muscles so as to see nearby as well as distant objects is called the Power Of Accomodation.

Explanation:

The Focal Length of the eye-lens is changed by the action of Ciliary muscles. When we see distant objects, less Converging power is required and therefore the focal length required is more.

The Ciliary mucle are in relaxed condition which facilitate larger focal length of the eye-lens.

When we see nearby objects, more converging Power is required due to which the focal length of the eye - lens should be small. The Ciliary muscles contract so that te focal length of eye-lens decreases.

Variation in Converging Power of a normal Human eye due to change in focal length of eye enables a range of vision. :-

• we are able to see objects at infinity which is also called a far point. Thus The far point of a normal human eye is infinity.
• When we see objects placed closer to us, Ciliary Muscles Get strained. There is a limit to which ciliary muscles can be attained. If an object is placed at a distance of 25 m from the eye, it can be seen distinctly with maximum strain of Ciliary muscles for which our eye is naturally designed.
