. PQRS is a parallelogram (Fig 11.23). QM is the height from Q
to SR and QN is the height from Q to PS. If SR = 12 cm and
QM = 7.6 cm. Find:

Given:
- PQRS is a parallelogram.
- QM is the height from Q to SR and QN is the height from Q to PS.
- If SR is 12 cm and QM is 7.6 cm
To Find:
- The area of the parallegram PQRS
- QN, if PS = 8 cm
Solution:
As we are given here both base and height of parrallgram, so we can easily find area of parrallgram.
- Height (QM) = 7.6 cm
- Base (SR) = 12 cm
Area of parrallgram = Base × Height
Hence,
- Area of parrallgram is 91.2 cm²
Now, Finding QN, if PS is 8 cm
Area of parrallgram = Base × Height
Where,
- Base (PS) = 8 cm,
- Height (QN) = ?
Putting values in formula:
Therefore,
(a) Area of parrallgram is 91.2 cm²
(b) Length of (QN) is 11.4 cm
