Given:

  • PQRS is a parallelogram.
  • QM is the height from Q to SR and QN is the height from Q to PS.
  • If SR is 12 cm and QM is 7.6 cm

To Find:

  • The area of the parallegram PQRS
  • QN, if PS = 8 cm

Solution:

As we are given here both base and height of parrallgram, so we can easily find area of parrallgram.

  • Height (QM) = 7.6 cm
  • Base (SR) = 12 cm

Area of parrallgram = Base × Height

\sf \mapsto 12 \times 7.6

\sf\mapsto12 \times \dfrac{76}{10}

\sf \mapsto \dfrac{912}{10}

\sf \mapsto91.2 {cm}^{2}

Hence,

  • Area of parrallgram is 91.2 cm²

Now, Finding QN, if PS is 8 cm

Area of parrallgram = Base × Height

Where,

  • Base (PS) = 8 cm,
  • Height (QN) = ?

Putting values in formula:

\sf \mapsto91.2 = 8 \times QN

</p><p>\sf \mapsto QN = \dfrac{91.2}{8}</p><p></p><p>

\sf \mapsto QN = \dfrac{ \cancel{912}}{ \cancel{8 }\times 10}</p><p>

\sf \mapsto QN = \dfrac{114}{10}

\sf \mapsto QN = 11.4cm

Therefore,

(a) Area of parrallgram is 91.2 cm²

(b) Length of (QN) is 11.4 cm
