Given : PQRS is a parallelogram where QT is perpendicular to SR and RN is  perpendicular to PS. If SR = 18 cm, PS = 12 cm and QT = 8 cm,

To Find : RN.

Solution:

Area of parallelogram = Base * Height

Area of parallelogram  PQRS = SR * QT

SR = 18 cm

QT = 8 cm

Area of parallelogram  PQRS = 18 x 8 = 144   cm²

Area of parallelogram  PQRS = PS * RN

SR = 12 cm

RN = y cm

Area of parallelogram  PQRS = 12y  cm²

12y =  144

=> y = 12

RN  = 12 cm
