PQRS is a rectangle whose sides are 8cm and 6cm. A B C D are the midpoints of PQ,QR,RS,SP respectively. find the area of ABCD

ANSWER:

Point A is the midpoint of P,Q and B is the midpoint of Q,S and similarly C is the midpoint of S, R and D midpoint of R, P respectively.

Then,

AB = √ (6/2)² + (8/2)²

= √ 3² + 4²

= √ 9 + 16

= √ 25

= 5 cm

Similarly,

BC = CD = DA = 5 cm

Then, area of ABCD

= (5×5) cm

= 25 cm
