PQRS is a rectangle with dimensions 28 m by 20 m. POQ is a
triangle such that is the point of intersection of the diagonals.
Find the area of the shaded region.​ ​

diagonal SQ= √(20×20+28×28)

= 34.4cm

hence, OQ= 17.2cm. ( diagonals of a rectangle

bisect each other)

Also OP=OQ.

Semi perimeter of ∆POQ= (17.2+17.2+28)/2

= 31.2cm

area of ∆POQ= √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=139.9cm^2

area of rectangle= 560cm^2

area of shaded region=420.1cm^2
