Lenght of side of square=28m
Area of the square=(side)^2 sq. unit
=(28^2)m^2
=784m^2

Since lenght of side of square is 28m
Diameter of the semicircles=28m

Radius of the semicircles=14m

Area of a semicircle=1/2*pi*r*r sq. unit

Area of both the semicircles=(2*1/2*pi*r*r)sq. unit
=pi*r*r sw. unit
=22/7×14×14 m^2
=616 m^2

After covering left area=(784-616) m^2
=168 m^2

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :-

In Square PQRS, side a = 28 m.

In two semi-circles,

PQ and RS are diameters.

So, PQ = RS = 28 m

r = 28/2 = 14 m

Area of uncovered portion = Area of square PQRS - 2 × Area of semi-circles.

Area of uncovered portion = a² - 2 × πr²/2

Area of uncovered portion = 28² - 22/7 × 14 × 14

Area of uncovered portion = 274 - 616

Area of uncovered portion = 168 m²

Hence, 168 m² area will be left uncovered.
